Midlands Purpleware Drinking Vessel
An almost complete example of a Midlands Purpleware drinking vessel or jug dated to the sixteenth century. This would have had a single handle and the rim of this appears to have been deliberately removed suggesting it was refashioned for an additional purpose later in its life, rather than being disposed of. It is of a type likely to have been produced in Wednesbury, Staffordshire or Chilvers Coton, Warwickshire.
